Genre: Smooth Reggae
Smooth Reggae is similar to reggae-pop, in the regard that it has strong melodic hooks and crossover potential. The real difference between the two genres is the fact that smooth reggae is romantic reggae, sounding seductive and designed for such purposes. The genre began to surface in the mid-'80s and gained strength throughout the '90s.
