Genre: Post-Romantic

As a period of music, Post-Romanticism is a term that is rarely used. It refers to any music that comes after romanticism, which ended during the 1910s. Sometimes it refers to art music composed between the wars, and on occasion, is used to refer to music prior to the first World War. In essence, post-romanticism is the beginning of 20th century classical music and can include anything from 12-tone music to atonal music and neo-classicism. ~ Keith Johnson
