Albums in New Age Of The 90's
Description
New age music emerged in the late 1970s as interest in Eastern spiritualism and metaphysics increased and people sought soothing sounds that made an ideal soundtrack for a more tranquil way of life. Many new age artists combine the sounds of nature with acoustic and electronic sounds and are influenced by traditional Asian, Celtic, African and native North American styles of music. From the simple acoustic piano melodies of George Winston to the alluring ambient synthesizer soundscapes of Kitaro, new age music covers wide musical territory. Many of today's most popular new age artists like Enya and Yanni employ more elaborate productions featuring orchestras, but some, like Enigma, still produce most of the music themselves on synthesizers and samplers.
