Albums in Topanga Canyon

Description

Folk and rock musicians settled in the hippie-friendly Topanga and Laurel Canyon areas of Los Angeles during the 1960s and created a unique, regional style that spearheaded an important era in folk-rock music that stretched into the 1980s. David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young emerged from bands like Buffalo Springfield and the Byrds that creatively fused country, rock and folk to form the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. These musicians along with members of the Eagles and singer/songwriters like Jackson Browne , Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt and Warren Zevon collaborated together in various capacities and became known as the "Mellow Mafia" for their dominance of the pop and rock charts during the mid 1970s.
