Blues-Rock began in the mid-60s when groups like Cream (with Eric Clapton)took blues songs and added the loud volume of rock. During the 70s, Blues-Rock became synonymous with Hard Rock, but by the 1980s artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan signaled a return to a more bluesy sound, while Hard Rock developed into its own style.
