Description
The top-selling rock acts of the 1960s and 70s eventually began to be called "Classic Rock", a catch-all term used for the popular radio format. Many of these acts continued to produce new music, building on their past successes and keeping alive the "classic" sound. Bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Aerosmith continue to win new fans, while the Rolling Stones may hold the record for longevity.
