Albums in Contemporary Folk
Description
Although folk music reached its peak audience in the 1960s, the ranks of folk musicians is larger than ever. Artists like Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell who first emerged during the '60s still remain powerful songwriters and performers, while newer faces like Kristin Hall, Dar Williams and Shawn Colvin keep the folk singer-songwriter tradition alive and well. The British group Fairport Convention and the Irish group the Chieftains continue to provide folk music from outside the American tradition.
